So here's the short of it, 
Thoughts of husbands...

And here's the long.

Today was the funeral for Tom Downs, the husband of a colleague.  I never met him; he must have been just a great guy.  It sounds as though he was a wonderful husband and father.  Tom was only 62 years old.  I can hardly imagine her loss. I'm grateful that she seems to be doing well.

I've spent the day being thankful for the life I've had these past years with Alan.  Like any two people we've had our good years and bad, but he's a great life partner.  I know that I'm a better person for having him in my life.

Now here's hoping I have many more years with him.
