Puppy Bath, Door Chore, and getting Mom home.
And here's the long
I had a good night's sleep last night, but today seemed to just slip through my fingers though. I didn't sleep really late, but I sure didn't get a lot accomplished.
One thing did happen - Liga and I gave Miss Sophie a bath! I'm glad there were two of us. She's such a big girl and a couple of times she decided that she really didn't want to be in the shower with puppy shampoo all over her. She didn't fight it, but it was good to have two people to contain her. And once it was all over and she began to get dry she wanted to nap off and on the rest of the day.
Alan and I did work for a spell on the bathroom door this afternoon. I love the pocket doors all through the house, but we had a malfunction today. (Sophie was a part of making it happen) We were able to get it fixed, but that was tricky. A couple of years ago, Alan had someone manufacture some of the rollers as replacement parts. So we had them on hand and now we'll be able to close the bathroom door! There was a funny incident. As we got finished and closed the door, with Alan on the inside and me on the outside, the door seemed to lock and he couldn't get it open from the inside. It was a good thing I was on the outside and could get it open. A minor adjustment of the catch showed that it wasn't really locked and now it's working just fine.
Mom got home late this afternoon. Betsy was so good to drive her up from Atlanta, and it's wonderful to have her back again. It's a nice feeling to drive by her house on the way to or from work and just see her car in the drive and the light on. We had a nice visit with them this evening.
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteWhen Carl and I were building our house, we lived in an extreme state of "unfinishedness." We had no windows, just 4 mil plastic stapled over the holes; no floors, just sheets of plywood lying haphazardly over the joists; no water, just a tank for hauling water, which we carried in the back of our pickup truck. We also had no doors. For our bathroom, we stapled a blanket to the top of the door frame. Worked for us! However, it didn't provide much privacy. :-)
