 We went to hear Geoffrey Canada speak tonight as a part of the Hunter Lecture Series.

I think Chattanooga was ready to hear the things he had to say. There will be grants awarded for communities who want to try to replicate the work of the Harlem Children's Zone. Chattanooga is one of the applicants for that grant money.

Maybe the most important thing I heard him say  -  he speaks with leaders all over the country from all levels - from local leaders, state leaders, and national leaders, and they all ask him what we should be doing.  So the biggest secret is this he says, "There is no plan." " If you want to save your Children you have to do it yourself!"  What a challenge.  I want to believe that Chattanooga is ready to take that challenge.
