So here's the short of it, 
Our neighborhood had the July 4th picnic early this year since the fourth is on Sunday.

The neighborhood picnic on the triangle is a great tradition - and today was such a nice day to be together with our neighbors.  There were the usual politicians (it's school board elections this August) and of course the firetruck and firemen!  I saw people that I haven't seen in a long time.  It was nice.  Liga didn't have to be at work until 2:00 today so she came over and had lunch before she left.

This evening Mom and Hershey came up for dinner with us.  Alan put a couple of steaks on the grill - Mom brought green beans and a tomato salad.  I put on some fingerling potatoes with onions and we had leftover cake from the picnic for dessert. 

Hershey and Sophie had a good time playing together while we ate and then went out in the front and played while we sat on the porch and visited.
