Tonight I went to an informal memorial service for Quartez Sanders.

One of the High School Project Explore students died suddenly last week - Quartez Sanders
He died of cardiac difficulties at 23 years old.
Funeral arrangements had not been forthcoming. So this evening a group of his friends met in front of Academy Sports, his last employer. It was a lovely memorial service held in front of the store. It was nice of the store to agree to let there be a service there.
Several people brought pictures. I hadn't seen Quartez in years, but I remembered him as a very gentle and kind young man. It was obvious that he touched the hearts of many people young and old. He was friends with Kalie, Valdis' girlfriend. They had worked together for a couple of years at Rack Room. Liga and Valdis both remembered him from Project Explore days.
