Today I had a nice opportunity to visit with a former student. Brandon was a 7th grader when he and his Mom moved to Hamilton County and he enrolled at 21st Century Academy. Brandon's life path intersected with Karen Claypool as his German teacher - and from there to a year abroad as an exchange student during high school. He went to college at UTC, and then decided to move to Germany to finish his education. He's finished his Bachelor's degree in Germany in Engineering and is working on his PhD in an Engineering speciality using lasers to measure stuff!
It's nice to see a young man like Brandon all grown up and living out his dreams. Here he is with his sweet and beautiful wife Stefanie and his 3 year old daughter Celina. She's already speaking both German and English - way to go Brandon and Stefanie!
