So here's the short of it, 
Today is Alan's birthday!

And here's the long.

Today we celebrated Alan's birthday!

He ordered up his dinner - a home cooked meal of Salmon, cooked carrots, and broccoli.  I added wild rice and a double fudge chocolate cake along with the best cantaloupe we've had all year

Mommy Anne came over and joined our Sunday night dinner to make this a special birthday occasion for Alan.  We thought Liga wasn't going to make it because it was her weekend to work, but she was able to get her dinner break at the same time we were sitting down for dinner so she was able to join us for a little while. Mom came and Valdis and Kalie were there too. 

See the rose behind Mommy Anne? Alan gives his Mom a rose every year on his birthday as a token of his appreciation for having him and raising him. I think it's a really nice thing that he does that - my Uncle Tom always did that as well.
