So here's the short of it,
Happy Kindergarten to you!

And here's the long.

We are halfway through the first week of school.  All the schools I've been in so far this week seem to have opened with no problems.  It's a fun time!

Several of my Facebook friends and family have little ones starting Kindergarten this year.  It's holding true to form that the nervousness and expectations of tears is mostly from the Moms not the kids!

There's even a book now called The Night Before Kindergarten..   Now how great is that.  A book to read to your little guy/gir)l before that big day going off to Kindergarten!  I see the same thing in our buildings as from the Facebook crowd.  For the most part the kids are ready for this; it's the Moms (and sometimes Dads) who are a bit nervous and hesitant to leave their little ones in the hands of that next bigger world.

And I guess I should write the Night Before Kindergarten for parents.  If you have a kid and you're reading this - remember that as much as your kid's teachers will love him or her - there's this.  They'll have them for a year.  They are yours for life.  Advocate, advocate, advocate!!!
